GSC Vault is not a data-monetization company. Our core philosophy is Local-First—this is not just a promise, but a fundamental architectural requirement of our software. Your business intelligence (SEO strategy data) remains physically stored on your own device under your total control.

1. Google User Data Policy

This section details how GSC Vault interacts with Google User Data obtained via Google APIs. We strictly adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Data Access & Scope

  • Google Search Console Data (Read-only): We access your search performance data (clicks, impressions, position, queries, etc.) solely to facilitate the transfer of this data from Google's servers to your local storage.
  • Google Drive Data (Restricted Write): If you enable cloud backup, we write encrypted backup files to a specific folder created by this extension. We physically cannot access any other files in your Drive.
  • User Identity: We access your email address only to verify your authorization status across your devices.

Privacy by Architecture

  • Zero Intermediary Servers: GSC Vault does not use a relay server. Data fetched from Google APIs is transmitted directly to your browser's local database (IndexedDB) over a secure connection.
  • No External Transmission: Your Search Console report content is never uploaded to our servers or shared with any third-party analytics platforms. Your data is air-gapped from our business operations.

Core Usage

  • Bypass 16-month Limit: The sole purpose of data access is to preserve your history locally beyond Google's default retention window.
  • Visualization: Data is used to render deep-audit charts in your local dashboard.
  • Private Backup: You may choose to sync data to your own Google Drive, where you remain the sole controller of the files.

2. Technical Safeguards

As a tool built for SEO professionals, we treat data as a strategic asset.

  • Minimal Telemetry: We do not track your browsing history.
  • Transparent Analytics: We use Google Analytics only to collect limited, anonymous product telemetry (e.g., UI interactions) to improve usability. This telemetry never includes your SEO metrics, keywords, or site information.
  • OAuth 2.0 Security: We never see or store your password. All authentication is handled via official Google tokens, which you can revoke at any time in your Google Account settings.
